Walking and retrace time: the contribution of a travel magazine for the construction of otherness

Abstract

The news articles on trips published in specialized magazines, initially proposed as geographic displacements, also are focused to temporary displacements. We want to analyze, in the Spanish and French magazine GEO, the type of temporary dimensions we can find in this magazine, the stereotypes they develop, as well as stylistic resources they offer, in order to describe past and future of the own society, and past and future of other societies. We will observe that the own society is focused to the past and the future, when others societies are focused only to the past.
